Frequently Asked Questions
Company Information
Lift-Tex Inc. owns and operates Elite Motors, a motor manufacturing company.
Under the supervision of onsite engineers and QC personnel representing Lift-Tex Inc., Elite Boat Lift Motors are produced at facilities contracted by Lift-Tex in China.
The company was formed in 2013 after Regal Beloit acquired AO Smith. After Regal Beloit acquired AO Smith, it controlled the major boat lift motor brands. Lift-Tex realized that one vendor could control the price and distribution of all boat lift motors, so they hired engineers to design their own line of boat lift motors called Elite Boat Lift Motors. March 7, 2014 marked the launch of the first of nine boat lift motor models offered by Elite Boat Lift Motors.
Elite Boat Lift Motors were first sold in March 2014. Since then, Elite Motors has developed 9 different models, ranging from 3/4 to 1.5 horsepower, in both painted and stainless steel finishes. The number of Elite Motors in operation today is estimated to be around 100,000.
MOTOR Information
Yes, Elite Motors are TENV (Totally Enclosed Non-Venting) and IP (Ingress Protection) rated, making them ideal for boat lift applications.
In designing Elite Motors, we aimed to make them as boundless as possible. Boat Hoist USA, AMS, Hefty Hoist, American Power Hoist, ABL and ACE Labs flat plate hoists will work with our Painted 56 frame mount motors. A-drives, E-drives, C-drives, enclosed drives, AMS enclosed drives, Golden Sea drives, Boat Lift US, and any direct mount standard flange gearbox will work with our C-Face baseless motors.
Elite Motors are all UL recognized and meet or exceed all recognitions, certifications, and regulatory requirements that any other brand of single phase motor must meet. UL recognition for Elite Motors is recognized in both Canada and the US under number E464499.
All Elite motors are dual voltage and reversible. From the factory, the motors are wired for 220V, but can be rewired for 110V. For any electrical component rewiring, a licensed electrician is recommended.
Heavy duty motors have a higher service factor than standard duty motors. Due to its higher service factor, it can maintain a stronger torque for the normal 15 minute run time. Essentially, it gives you a 1.25 HP motor. For flat-plate hoists, a standard duty motor can lift 4,500 lbs., while a heavy duty motor can lift 6,500 lbs.
